Bloomingdale-Mr. James William Sheffield, Sr., 65, died on Saturday, August 9, 2008 at
St. Joseph's Hospital.

The Effingham County native was the owner/operator of Sheffield's Paint & Body Shop.
He enjoyed farming, gardening, old cars and fishing. He was preceded in death by his
parents, Emory Leon Sheffield, Sr. & Beatrice Willis Sheffield and a brother, Emory
Leon Sheffield, Jr..

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Ann Sheffield of Bloomingdale; three children, James
W. Sheffield, Jr. & Darlene of South Effingham, Jeannie & Steve Thomas of Port
Wentworth and Sean & Laura Berry of Rincon; three grandchildren; three sisters, Carolyn
Blakewood of Savannah, Joan Pealstrom of Bloomingdale and Rosemary Burgess of
Bloomingdale; brother, Arthur E. Sheffield, Sr. of Rincon and several nieces and
nephews.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral: 1 p.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Springfield Cemetery Annex.
