Millbrook, AL-Mr. James Audrin Traylor, 87, a resident of Millbrook, AL, died on
Saturday, February 6, 2010.
Mr. Traylor was preceded in death by his parents, James Clayton Traylor and Nola
Virginia Smith; sisters, Alma Page and Bernadyne Adair. Mr. Traylor was a veteran of
WWII and retired from the Air Force. During WWII, Mr. Traylor was a Ball Turret
Gunner on a B-17 and was shot down and imprisoned in Stalag 17B in Krems, Austria.
He remained there for two years. Mr. Traylor was a pilot and a member of the Civil Air
Patrol. He was a much loved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will
be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Helyn; daughter, Glynean Williams, son,
Stephen Traylor, both of Savannah, GA; four grandchildren, Wayne Williams (Lauren) of
Black Creek, GA, Nicole Williams of Savannah, GA, Stephen and Mark Traylor of
Glennville, GA; two great-grandchildren, Sara and Jacob Williams of Black Creek, GA.
He is also survived by a nephew, Dr. Randle Adair of Albuquerque, NM.
The visitation will be Monday, February 8, 2010 from 5 -7 p.m. at Leak-Memory Chapel.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the First United
Methodist Church in Millbrook, AL. Mr. Traylor will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. at the
Church. Burial will follow at Brookside Memorial Gardens.
