James Melvin Williams

Clyo – James Melvin Williams, 77, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019 at Pruitt Health.

The Sumter County native was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard and a Vietnam veteran. He was a member of the Warrant Officers Association and the Disabled Veterans.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Lucile Mathis Williams; grandson, Logan Shelton; and his uncle, Glenn Mathis.

Survivors include his wife, Fay Butler Williams; daughter, Debra (Mark) Shelton; son, Michael Williams; grandsons, Dalton Shelton and Landon Shelton; sister, Sara Jo McSwain.

Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2019 at Bryan Neck Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 7196 Belfast Keller Road, Richmond Hill, GA 31324.
