Mrs. Jane Diane Dowdy "Janie", 76, of Midway, GA, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 at her home.

She was born in Savannah, GA and was preceded in death by the parents who raised her, Ina Molly Watkins and Earl Eugene Watkins, Sr., and her step-mother, Berdist Watkins.  She was a charter member of Faulkville Baptist Church and was a homemaker.  She was a loving Foster Mother to 100 children over a 22 year span.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Lethridge Hugh Dowdy "L.H."; children and spouses, Clinton Lethridge Dowdy, Clayton Hugh Dowdy, Tandy Diane (Dowdy) Derringer & Kenton Derringer, and Telleah Ivanette (Dowdy) Bodnar & Emerick Paul Bodnar "Ricky"; adopted children, Christina (Dowdy) Cason, Melissa Dowdy, and Autumn Leigh (Dowdy) Hernandez & Leonardo Hernandez; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Jeanie Oglesbee (Joe), Marcia Swagert (Jerry), and Earl Eugene Watkins, III (Maida) as well as several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral will be on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
