Bloomingdale – Janice Lynn Slingluff, 37, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Memorial Health University after a long battle with breast cancer.
Janice Lynn was born on February 6, 1974, and was a native to Chatham County. She was a member of the Mustard Seed Faith Church where she joyfully sang in the choir. She graduated from Groves High School in 1992, and received an Associate degree in Computer Support Specialist as well as an Associate degree in Biblical Studies from the Mustard Seed Bible Institute. She cheerfully worked at Savannah Technical College for many years in the Registrar's office as the Banner Data Processing Specialist, where she was loved by all. She was a wonderful, loving wife and mother and devoted prayer warrior. She enjoyed fishing, boating, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her adoring husband, Rickey Slingluff; her two precious daughters, Abbey Elizabeth and Sarah Tye; her parents, Edward Dale and Elaine Scarborough; her sister, Shanda Padilla; her nieces and nephews, Matthew, Madison, Devin, Alyssa, Alex, Kaleb, Ariana, Isabel, Manuel Antonio, Raquel, Dean, Becca, and Mason; many in-laws; several aunts and uncles; cousins; dear friends; and countless others whose lives she touched.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2011 at the Mustard Seed Faith Church at 1950 Chatham Parkway. She will lie in state from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. at the church. A private burial will be held at the Shellman Bluff Baptist Church in Townsend, Georgia.
