Janie Miller White
Rincon – Janie Miller White, 89, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Candler Hospital.
The Bulloch County native was a member of Rincon United Methodist Church and the Woodrow Oglesby Sunday School Class. She formerly worked at Savannah Machine Foundry as a welder for 4 years, Union Camp for 25 years, was a school crossing guard in Rincon for many years, and later as a senior companion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy Miller, Sr. and Mamie Moore Miller, husband, Carter Wiseman White; sister, Jo Mosley; brother, L.C. Miller; granddaughter, Teresa Lynn Hudson; grandsons, Carl Smith, Jr., and Christopher Lee Smith.
Survivors include her children, Roy (Darlene) White, Sr. of Guyton, Gary L. (Kathy) White, Sr. of Pooler, Jane Ruth of Rincon, Vicky (Billy) Moody of Gainesville, GA; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and three half-sisters.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
