Janis Robin Alukonis Liguori

Janis (Jan) was born on April 14, 1960 in Brooklyn, New York, to loving parents, Anthony and Joyce Alukonis. Growing up in Wantagh, New York, Jan was a daddy's girl, an avid traveler, and adventure seeker.

In 1985, Jan welcomed her only son, Jason, her pride and joy. In 1990, the family moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida, where she worked for many years at the United Space Alliance, while raising her son as a single mother. She was proud to earn her Associates degree and was working towards her Bachelors degree in Business at night.

In 2022, after the passing of her parents and personal health issues, Jan relocated to Springfield, Georgia, to be closer to her son's family.

Jan was a devoted grandmother and enjoyed her grandchildren's various sports and school activities. She was skilled in the kitchen making her famous Italian dishes and cheesecakes and sharing those meals with her family and friends. She doted on her dog, Shadow, and the many other pets before him. Basking in the sun, listening to music, and taking a walk on the beach were some of her favorite moments.

Jan passed away on June 28, 2023 surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents and niece, Kate Alukonis. She is survived by her son, Jason (Sabrina) Liguori; grandchildren, Fiona Liguori and Easton Liguori; brother, Steven Alukonis; sisters, April Aulisio (aka Joyce) and Judi Froehlich, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Arrangements will be made privately by the family at a later date.
