Savannah-Mr. Jason Joseph Williams, 79, began the path of home going on Monday, September 22, 2014 at his residence in Pooler after an extended illness.
Mr. Williams was born March 4, 1935 to Jason Corrie Williams and Ethel Cecile Herb Williams. He was a graduate of Benedictine Military School, class of '54 where he played on the football team with his twin brother, Corrie. Jason was the first recipient of the Neil Sledge award for sportsmanship. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after graduation and was honorably discharged in 1957. Mr. Williams remained in the Marine Corps Reserves until 1961. He began his apprenticeship in 1957 in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and retired in 2000 after 43 years of loyalty. Mr. Williams was an extremely talented electrician and a selfless person who was called upon to provide his extraordinary talents for others on many occasions which he did with a giving heart. He was married to Sarah Roughen Williams from 1972 until her death in 1991. Mr. Williams married Anne Carver Williams in 1996. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his children, Sheri Baker and Ricky Hinely.
Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Anne; brother, Corrie Williams, and his sister, Betty Lee, both of Savannah; seven children, Jay Joseph Williams, Debbra Ann Griffin, Chris Francis (Gaye) Williams, John Joseph Mokray, Elizabeth Anne Williams and Sally Ann (Mallie) Seckinger, all of Savannah, and Theresa Elizabeth (Jeff) Gasser of North Augusta; nineteen grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
For all who knew him, Mr. Williams was always more concerned with the needs of others before his own.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
