Jaunita Rahn Allen
Clyo – Jaunita Rahn Allen, 89, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Allen was born June 14, 1925, and was a life-long resident of Effingham County. She was an active member at Laurel Hill Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher and worked diligently with the women's group. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and baking. And, she was well-known for her delicious cinnamon rolls! Mrs. Allen was a charter member of the Clyo Homemakers Club and one of the founders of the Dorcas Clothes Closet.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years George G. Allen as well as her parents, Bertie and Annie Rahn; brothers: Howard, Malcolm, Cliff, and Billy, and a sister, Kathryn Zipperer.
Survivors include sons, Lamar (Bobbie) Allen and Tommy (Kathy) Allen; a daughter, Betty (Don) Sikes; five grandchildren, Holly (Tim) Usher, Donna (Buddy) Holder, Chriss (Rachel) Allen, Kacy (Josh) Tedder, and Troy (Jinci) Allen; 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; sisters-in-law, Edna N. Allen and Juanita W. Rahn.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Laurel Hill Lutheran Church.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
