Pooler-Mr. Jay Edward "Ed" Duran, 68, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Ed was born in Fulton County to the late Walter & Evie Duran. He retired from the Georgia Army National Guard and attended The Church at Godley Station. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, camping, fishing, grilling, and feeding the squirrels and birds. He was preceded in death by sisters and brothers, Pat Murdock (Jay), Lewis Duran, and Howard Duran.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Maddox Duran; children, Alan Duran (Oma), Julie Mizell (Paul), Jennifer Wegmann (Donnie), Jennifer Smith (Jimmy), Leighanne Duran, Joshua Duran (Christie), and his beloved dog, Puck the Pug; grandchildren, Abigail, Rachel, Dalton, Bobby, Spencer, Natalie, Danika, Makayla, Austin and Logan; sister, Lena Patton (Dub, deceased);brother, Walt Duran (Gwen), and a number of nieces and nephew.
The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 W. Hwy. 80 in Pooler.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that remembrances be made to The Church at Godley Station Building Fund, 1601 Benton Blvd. Pooler, GA 31322.
