Port Wentworth-Mr. J.B. Skinner, 84, died on Veterans Day, November 11, 2008 at his
home.
Mr. Skinner was born in Bulloch County and graduated from Statesboro High School.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Rachou Skinner and was a life long
member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He retired from J.C. Lewis Ford in
1991 and later volunteered with the Port Wentworth Chamber of Commerce from
1997-2006. He served his country during World War II and the Korean War as a Navy
Frogman. He never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Survivors include two sons, Jody Skinner of Cologne, Germany and Phil Skinner of
Rincon; sister, Sue Green of Ocala, FL and a sister-in-law, Doris Rachou of Port
Wentworth.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. on Friday in the chapel of the funeral home with a Rosary Service at
6:30 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. on Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church
with burial to follow at the Catholic Cemetery.
