Rincon – Jean Scarborough Bacon, 94, passed away May 17, 2023 at her residence.

The Millen, GA native was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses since the 1950s and was a homemaker. She loved the country life, farming with her husband, and the horses and cattle. She was a very hospitable person whom loved her family dearly and one of the last true southern belles. She was an avid gardener, seamstress, painter and decorator.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. Scarborough and Reba Dolores Smith Scarborough; husband, Melvin Leroy Bacon; siblings, Ray Scarborough, Sonny Scarborough, Kenneth Scarborough, and Mary Marsala.

Survivors include her daughters, Theresa Bullock, Joy Jones, and Deborah Shippell; grandchildren, Mark Lamb (Eyra), Wesley Lamb (Lindsey), Jeremy Morgan, and Heather de Magalhaes (Jorge); great-grandchildren, Wesley and Waylon Lamb, Nico and Luciano de Magalhaes, Stephanie Willingham and Ashley McCann; great-great-grandchildren, Asher, Aiden, and Lennon; sisters, Gail Smith and Dee Omspacker; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023 in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in Screven Memorial Park.
