Mrs. Jean B. Tirey, 84, of Pooler, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Legacy at Savannah Quarters.

Jean was born in Swainsboro, Georgia to the late Dan and Etha Mae Brinson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Boyce Tirey, and her brother, Benton Brinson. She taught Sunday School and was a member of the Pooler First Baptist Church. She retired from Pooler Elementary School in 1998 after 29 years of faithful service.

Survivors include her sons and grandchildren, Danny Tirey (Sherrie)(Jonathan and Kristen), Scotty Tirey (Tina)(Nathan, Jason, Shannon, Taylor, and Nick); daughter, Lori Lancaster (Stephen)(Molly, Matthew, Noah), several great-grandchildren, and a sister, Betty Riner.

The visitation will be on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 3:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral to honor Mrs. Jean's life will follow at 5 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Jason Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
