Jeanne Futch, born Iler Jeanne Purvis, on February 7, 1939, in Savannah, GA, entered into eternal rest peacefully on March 3, 2025, at Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family. Jeanne is survived by her three devoted children, whom she loved fiercely; her daughter Lisa (Joe) Roberson, daughter Lori (Larry) Lewis, and son Tommy (Janet) Futch. Affectionately known as "Granjeanne" to four grandchildren; Jennifer (Brian) King, Joey (Jessi) Roberson, Lindsay (Daniel) Reeves, Jordan Roberson, and five great-grandchildren; Roland Bargeron, Scarlett Bargeron, Katelyn King, Anthony King, Piper Reeves, and a number of nieces and nephews. Family was life to Jeanne. There is nothing she treasured more than her family, and to become her friend was to become her family. She was an incredibly generous person who spared no expense when expressing her love, and she looked for every opportunity to give of her time and money. Jeanne graduated from Commercial High School in Savannah in 1957, and was employed as an administrative assistant with the Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education for several decades. Throughout her life, Jeanne was a Grade Room Mom, Sunbeams leader, Sunday School teacher, PTA member, Red Cross volunteer, Red Hat Society participant, and so much more. She passed down her love of service to her three children, reminding them of the importance of making the world a better place. Jeanne is preceded in death by her mother, Annie Lou (Page) Purvis, her father Lewis H. Purvis, sister Shirley (Paul) Mosely, sister Ann (Tommy) White, and sister Nadine Beatty. Jeanne's Celebration of Life will be held at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons' funeral home on Monday, March 10. Pallbearers will include nephew Michael Mosely, nephew Chuck Beatty, grandson Brian Browning, grandson Joey Roberson, grandson Daniel Reeves, and great-grandson Anthony King. Friends will be received at 10 A.M., with a service to follow at 11 A.M. in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Savannah, following immediately after the service. Thomas C.
