Mrs. Jeannette G. Smith Frost went home to Heaven on Saturday, March 25, 2023, surrounded by family after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease at the age of 93.

She was born on January 30, 1930 in Johnson County, Georgia to the late Doc and Myrtle Smith.  In September of 1950 she married the love of her life, James Elmer Frost, who preceded her in death on October 23, 1992.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers, M. Dean Smith, Lewis (Gene) Smith, and sisters, Winnifred Dowd, Elizabeth Durden, and Myra Purnell.

She moved to Meldrim, Georgia in 1969 where she was a resident until January of 2018, when she moved to the memory care unit of the Bryan County Health and Rehab Center in Richmond Hill, Georgia.  She was a retired custodian of the Faulkville Baptist Church after 30 years where she was a member.  She was also a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and the Young at Heart Senior Fellowship.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and faithful friend to many.  She was affectionately called mama, granny, Aunt Net or just Nettie.  She was a Proverbs 31 woman in so many ways.  She loved fishing, gardening and all types of birds.  She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her two children, Kenneth James Frost (Silvia) and Sheila Frost Gruber (Walter); four grandchildren, Jennifer Gruber King (Brian), Becky Gruber Eubanks (Jeremy), Tara Frost Howard (Mike), and Holly Frost Wade (Lance); 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Ione Smith Newman of Aiken, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Hazel Anderson and Geraldine Williamson, both of Statesboro, Georgia.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Bryan County Health and Rehab Facility for all of the care and love given to Mrs. Frost.  You became family to her.  Also, to Hospice of Savannah.

The visitation will be on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral to honor Mrs. Jeannette's life will be on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim, Georgia.
