Mr Jeremy J Wells, 87, of Savannah, Georgia passed away peacefully at Hospice Savannah on 14th October, 2025, at approximately 4:30am. Born in London, England, within the sound of Bow Bells. He survived the Blitz and went on to thrive at Perrott Hill and Tonbridge where he excelled at Sciences and enjoyed cricket and rugby. After surviving and indeed thriving at boarding school he studied Chemical engineering at Imperial College in London and set sail for New York City to begin a distinguished international career. His work took him around the globe to more than 120 countries, from Union Camp in Savannah to McKee in Italy (Rome) and eventually to Geneva, where he served as an engineering expert and trade consultant for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Jeremy met the love of his life, Sally Elliott Wells, whilst taking a historic preservation course in Savannah. They shared fifty wonderful years together in Chicago, Rome, London and finally Savannah before her passing. A devoted husband, Jeremy cared for Sally with compassion and cheer during her battle with Alzheimer's. He was a man of intellectual curiosity and kindness with a cheerful disposition and a good sense of humour. An avid gardener, Jeremy took great pride in his azaleas and camellias, and his home in Ardsley Park reflected his love of collecting antiques and paintings over the years. He was also an active member of The Learning Center on Bull Street and a key contributor to the International Affairs discussion group, where he enjoyed spirited debates and good company. Jeremy is survived by his daughter Sarah Elizabeth Wells; sister-in-law Iris Callaway; nephew John Elliott Callaway (Cheri Mays); niece Jennifer Callaway Garlow (Robert S); great nieces and nephews, Avery, Hannah, Zach and Austin. He was preceded in death by his wife Sally Elliott Wells, and his parents, Frank Wells and Elizabeth Sines Wells. The family extends sincere gratitude to the caring participants at Hope Arbor, the staff and Rita at Buckingham South and last but not least Dianne Tigner (caregiver and friend) for their loving support during Jeremy's final years. The funeral to honour Jeremy's life will take place on Friday, 24th October, 2025 at 2pm preceded by a lunch at 12pm and visitation at 1pm at The Collegiate Church of St Paul the Apostle located at 1802 Abercorn Street in Savannah.
