Jerrold Robert Arthur
Rincon, GA – Jerrold Robert Arthur, age 72, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Savannah, GA. With the biggest of hearts and a witty sense of humor – he was well loved and will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.
He is survived by the love of his life for 56 years, his wife, Naida Fahlman Arthur of Rincon, GA; his son, David Eugene Arthur of Seattle, WA; his daughter and son-in-law, Greg and Christina Arthur Thayer of Rincon, GA; his sister, Janice Arthur Garner of Camarillo, CA; and his grandchildren, Cody and Caylee Thayer of Rincon, GA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Arthur & Thelma Kjelstrom Arthur-Thiede.
Born & raised in Inglewood, CA, Jerrold founded Blue Coral Software. He was an expert computer programmer and software design consultant for over 40 years working with entertainment companies such as Motown, Warner Brothers Records, Sasson Jeans, Sony Music, and Universal Music Group. Ready to spend more time with family, he retired his keyboard leaving his ground breaking career in 2012 with a final salute to T-Mobile in Seattle, WA. By all standards he was a successful business man, but of all the many professional accomplishments, the titles he was most proud of were "Husband, Father, and Papa".
Jerrold leaves behind a legacy in the hundreds of lives he touched on his journey. He was a force of nature, always ready to rise up and stand strong for those around him. A natural care taker, he gave of his time and resources to support those less fortunate than he. He was often the anonymous donor behind church mission trips, community fundraisers, and always the first in line to assist anyone he saw in need.
Jerrold was an honorable and humble man, always putting his family first, and believed in the goodness of the human spirit. He lived his life simply, spiritually, and always in service to those who were blessed to know him. If you asked him, Jerrold would say he lived a small life. Yet, he stands as an example to us all, that a life lived well, can leave the biggest impact.
The memorial service is private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that you perform a random act of kindness for someone in need to honor his memory.
