Mr. Jerry Lewis Fort, 64, of Pooler, Georgia, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 at UF Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
Jerry was born in Savannah, Georgia and was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Hurst Bath. He was in the automotive paint business most of his life and was employed with Scott's Auto Body. He enjoyed drag racing, fishing, golfing, and loved to fly to Vegas. Jerry was a shriner and Cop #50 with the Keystone Cops, and also a mason with Zerubbabel Lodge # 15. He will be remembered as a family man with a caring and compassionate heart.
Survivors include his wife, Penny Fort of Pooler, Georgia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Nicole Fort of Hinesville, Georgia, Dustin and Leesa Fort of Guyton, Georgia; granddaughter, Hali-Rose Fort of Statesboro, Georgia; father, Leon Fort of Midway, Georgia; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie and Robin Fort of Whitesville, North Carolina, Tommy and Frankie Fort of Pooler, Georgia; niece, Rachel Barnwell and her husband, John; nephew, Clayton Fort and his wife, Cassie, and his three dogs, Lady, Lucky, and Baby.
The family will have a celebration of life service in honor of Jerry at a later date.
