Obituary

Jerry Kaapa, 59, of Bloomingdale, Georgia, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 20, 2021.

Jerry was born in Altus, Oklahoma to the late John N. Kaapa and Lillian S. Kaapa.  He was employed with Savannah Cartage.  He was an avid golfer, who was always looking forward to playing golf with his buddies at Bacon Park.  He coached basketball, baseball, and football for many years in Bloomingdale.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Kaapa; son, Robert Ulm (Colby), son, John A. Kaapa (Lauren Smith Kaapa), and daughter, Lauren Kaapa; grandchildren, Bryce Kaapa, Braiden Snider, Aubrey Kaapa, Ryland Kaapa, Kase Collins, Kord Collins, Bentley Ulm, and Tatum Ulm; sister, Mary Kaapa Hohnerlein; brother, Joseph Kaapa (Neal); a number of nieces and nephews as well as special family members, Big Shane, Donna Chapman, Baby Shane and Tori.

The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the funeral home.  The memorial service to celebrate Jerry's life will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.  A reception will follow at 109 Fox Court in Bloomingdale for a time of fellowship and food in memory of Jerry.
