Rincon – Jerry J. Kirby, 87, passed away October 30, 2022 at his daughter's residence.

The Chatham County native retired from Air Therm Heating & Air.  He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, gardening, watching westerns, and listening to bluegrass and country music.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Allie Mae Hendrix Kirby Gobble; his father, William Kirby; his wife, Jo Ann Hood Kirby;   8 siblings; and his daughter, Pamela Kirby.

Survivors include his children, Marlena Williams (Stephen), Tammy Bridges, and Gerald Kirby (Jing); grandchildren, Gideon, Josh, Brandy, Ferrin; step-grandchildren, Christyne, Stephen, II, Samantha;  great-grandchildren, Chloe, Macy, Patience, Cohen, Hailey; his best friend, Jeannie Ferrell;  and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2022 at Strickland Funeral Home, 2460 Hwy. 21 S., Rincon, GA 31326.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2022 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with Pastor Kenny Harrelson officiating.
