Mr. Jesse D. Carter, 81, of Guyton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at his home.

Jesse is going to be missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Martha Carter; children, Marcia Heater (Dennis), Angela Wooley (Chuck), and Jesse Carter, Jr. (Jammie); grandchildren, Asher Carter, Madison Lawson (Logan), Lore Carter, Colin Wooley, and Hawksley Carter; siblings, Jackie Carter (Becky), Dennis Carter (Teresa), Timmy Carter, and Linda Carter;  a number of nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Randall Jeffers and Bobby Oliff.

Jesse was born in Savannah, Georgia and had lived in Guyton for many years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Carter and Frances Bohannon Carter; siblings, Stanley Carter, Pat Jeffers, Joyce Cooper, Jean Oliff, and Frankie Williams (Larry).

Jesse retired from Gulfstream and is described as a hard-working, dedicated, family man.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting.

The visitation will be on Sunday, December 14, 2025 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral to honor Jesse's life will be on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 12 noon in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
