Mr. Jesse D. "Rick or JD" Roop, 74, of Ellabell, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Candler Hospital.

Jesse was born in Wheelwright, Kentucky to the late Dave Roop and Mary Merlin Syck Roop.  He was also preceded in death by Harold Roop, Tommy Roop, Imogene Meade, and Bobby Dean Roop.  He retired from CSX Railroad.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 53 ½ years, Mary Roop; daughters, Linda G. Bowen (Gerald), and Sandra K. Roop; son, Brian D. Roop (Christy); grandchildren, Mary Jessica Roop, Justin Bowen, Lindsay Bowen, Ginger Richcreek, Taylor M. Roop, Kimberly A. Roop, and Tara M. Colello; great-granddaughter, Daisy Marie Richcreek; siblings, Joyce Bates and Billy Joe Roop, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Sunday, July 25 ^th from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.  Rev. Jamie Rewis will be officiating.  The pallbearers will be Joey Baca, Gerald Bowen, Greg Brown, Ethan Colello, Gary Eaddy, TJ Hills, and Curran Richcreek.
