Obituary
Garden City-Ms. Jimmie Lanier Grist, 64, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 29, 2010 after a long illness.
Ms. Jimmie was the daughter of the late Rex and Mary Ellen Lanier. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Jack Lanier and her sister, June Ellen Mercer. She was a 1964 graduate of Groves High School and was a member of the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church. She was the former owner/operator of Jimmie's Attic and was a member of the Dixieland Cruisers. She enjoyed antiques and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Allyson & Barry Brown of Guyton; grandchildren, Ansley, Caroline and Caleb Brown; long-time friend, Eddie Brown; one nephew and several nieces, Mike Lanier, Karen Floyd, Melissa Jenkins and Tonya Mercer Gilbert.
Visitation: 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with the funeral following at 8 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
Graveside funeral: 11 a.m. on Thursday at Upper Lotts Creek Church Cemetery in Bulloch County.
Remembrances may be given to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
