Bloomingdale-Mrs. Jimmie Lee Patrick Greene, 89, died on Friday, September 19, 2008
at Bryan County Health & Rehabilition in Richmond Hill.

Mrs. Greene was born in Bryan County and had lived in the Savannah area for the last 50
plus years, having moved back to Georgia from Maryland with her husband where he had
served as Pastor of Waldrof Baptist Church. In Georgia, she and her husband served first
at Meldrim Baptist Church and then served 23 years at Woodlawn Baptist Church, where
she founded the daycare and kindergarden, nurturing many children for over 20 years.
After retiring from Woodlawn, they moved to Bloomingdale, and served several
Churches in an interim capacity.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Joseph Thomas Greene, two sisters,
Addie Mae Nease and Loraine Jones; two brothers, Roy Patrick and Alvin Patrick; three
sisters-in-law, Margaret Smith, Lucille Bell and Millie Greene and six brothers-in-law,
Jennings Greene, Luther Greene, Harold Greene, Seaborn Greene, Cohen Nease and
Ephrim Jones.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tom & Tina Greene of Savannah;
grandaughter, Kelly Greene of Atlanta; grandson, Thomas Greene of Washington, D.C.;
daughter-in-law, Debbie Holmes Carter of Snellville; two step-granddaughters, Renee
Ellis of Columbus and Jamie Ivey of Atlanta; three step-great-grandchildren, Jerome,
Christian and Cassidy Ellis of Columbus; three sisters-in-law, Maree Patrick of
Bloomingdale, Judy Smith and Beulah Kuntz of Hinesville; brother-in-law, Robert
Greene of Ellabell and numerous nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the Thomas C.
Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel in Pooler.

The funeral to celebrate the life of Mrs. Greene will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at
Woodlawn Baptist Church. Mrs. Greene will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. at the Church.
Interment will follow beside her beloved husband of 66 years at Hillcrest Abbey West
Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.
