Mr. Jimmy Floyd Spivey, 71, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2024 after a long fought battle with COPD.
Jimmy was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina and had lived in Savannah for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter David and Rena Belle Spivey; brothers, Elmer Spivey and Terry Spivey, and sister, JoAnn Spivey Fowler. Jimmy loved God, his family, and his country. He loved his life group from Compassion Christian Church. Jimmy worked for 20 years at Continental Grain before moving on to HVAC maintenance work, and then retiring from Oldfield Plantation. He and his wife enjoyed riding their Harley Davidsons, he was an avid golfer, and playing the guitar. Jimmy was the ultimate family man and was always in constant contact with his siblings to let them know what he knew and to find out what they knew.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Terry Bernice Spivey; sons, James Spivey and Jeff Spivey; grandchildren, Destiny, Damion, and Landon; siblings, Vicki Thornton (David), Roger Spivey, Keith Spivey, Sherri Zarkadas (William), Mike Spivey (Cathy), and Deena Colson (Steve); in-laws, Cindy Spivey, Linda Evans, Donna Smith (Terry), Tina Evans, and Sandra McDonald (Allen), as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 12 noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral to honor Jimmy's life will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Jimmy's brother-in-law, William Zarkadas officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery on Little Neck Road.
