Joan M. Floyd
Petaluma, CA - Joan entered into eternal peace and rest from lung and kidney problems on January 23, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.
The Effingham County native was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a great sister. She was preceded in death by her father Richard Leonell, mother Thelma H., brothers R.L., and Eugene Morgan.
Survivors include her husband of 54 1/2 years Hugh Floyd; daughter Patrice Schloetter (John); son David (Wendy); four grandchildren, Jake and Letie Schloetter , Allison and Rebecca Floyd; brothers Robert (Becky) and Harold (Hazel) who was best known as my little brother; and a great number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation and funeral services: Visitation will be Saturday February 3, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 11:30 a.m. at Strickland Funeral Home and Chapel.
Interment: will follow the service at Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
Remembrances may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 296 Corinth Church Rd. Springfield, GA 31329 in her memory.
