Joan Evelyn Norwood Crenshaw – BLOOMINGDALE – Joan Crenshaw, 84, passed peacefully away on Tuesday morning December 8th at St. Joseph's Hospital, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, after a short illness.
Joan was born November 29, 1931 to Floyd and Ruby Norwood in Mt. Holly, NC. In 1961, she found her way to Savannah, Ga where she met and married the love of her life Bobby Clay Crenshaw. She worked as a telephone operator for Southern Bell for many years before becoming a full-time homemaker.
She lived an amazing and fulfilling life in giving generously to others through her love, support and commitment to family. She is survived by her husband, Bobby C. Crenshaw, her children, Terri Gay (Joey), Ann Hughes, Kay Crenshaw Tatum (Richie Roberts). Five grandchildren, Christopher Day (Lacie), Travis Williams (Heather), Jeffrey Taylor, Harley Hughes, and Mason Hughes. In addition to 4 great grandchildren, Austin, Ethan, Sadie, and Gabrielle. And, a grand dog, Bogey Blue.
Mom we thank you for your unconditional love and are thankful God gave you to us for as long as he did. We will miss you dearly.
The visitation will be held at the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, 901 US-80, Pooler, GA, on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m.
The graveside funeral and burial will be on Friday at 10 a.m. at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery .
