Ms. Joan U. Owen, 82, of Port Wentworth, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Memorial Hospital.

Joan was born in Thomson, Georgia and was the faithful daughter of the late Bennett and Dorothy Hinton Usry.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Lynn Allen.  Joan had been employed for forty years at Truck and Trailer Leasing Company.  She later worked part-time at the Coastal Heritage Society.  She had formerly attended Jasper Springs Baptist Church and was a familiar face at Babe's Restaurant for many years before her declining health limited her mobility.

Survivors include her brother, Larry Usry and an aunt, Barbara Hendley.

Joan's wishes were to be cremated without a formal service.
