Obituary
Joan Gay Smith of Savannah passed away April the 16th at home under hospice care after a long illness surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her husband, Carlie L. Smith, Jr; Sons, Erik Bailey of Jericho VT, Adam Bailey of Columbia, SC; stepsons, Brian Smith of Atlanta, GA, Travis Smith of Gainesville, FL; sisters, Francis Sessions of Savannah, Mary Cornell of Charleston, SC; brothers, W.T. Gay of Palm Coast, FL, Mark Gay of Charleston SC; 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on April 19th at Strickland Funeral Home in Pooler. The funeral service will be held on April 20th at 12 noon at Strickland Funeral Home. Interment will be at Greenwich Cemetery, Savannah.
Remembrances may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Hospice of Savannah.
