Mrs. Joann Hester, 71, of Bloomingdale, Georgia, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at her home.

She was born in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Russell Clyde Stoner and Janie Pope Stoner.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Martin "Jim" Hester and her son, James Russell Hester.  She retired from the Chatham County Board of Education after many years as a school bus driver.

Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Stephanie Ledford (Ron) and Tammy Jeanette Hester; grandchildren, Jordan Alexandra Hester and Larry Eugene Akins (Carmi); great-grandchildren, Laralynn, Collin, Flynn, and Zelda; multiple nieces and nephews including Jerri O'Neal, Kim McGleamery Fuller (Derrick), and Ryan O'Neal (Blair)

The family will not be having a service.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to Kindred Hospice, 2280 East Victory Drive – Suite A, Savannah, GA  31404
