Joe K. Avaritt

Guyton- Joe K. Avaritt of Guyton, GA passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Wednesday, September 12, 2012. Joe was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved taking motorcycle tours on his Harley with many of his friends. Joe had a great love for animals, especially his dogs, and it was with great sadness that he said goodbye to his faithful companion, Lexus, earlier this year.

Joe and his wife, Jamie, celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary on August 4th.. Joe is also survived by two sons Shawn, his wife Tammy, and Joe Jr., of York, PA, a sister Mary in MN and various sister and brothers-in-law along with grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Joe proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and retired from Consolidated Freightways in 2001. He was a lifelong member of the Thirteenth Ward Political Club, the Starview Sportsman Association and the NRA. Joe had a generous and kind spirit and will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

A memorial service will be held at the Heffner Funeral Home, York, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Georgia Animal Rescue and Defense Fund (GARD), Pembroke, GA or the National Diabetes Association
