Pooler - Joe L. Corbitt, Sr.,71, husband of Katherine "Kathy" Boone Corbitt, died early Tuesday morning at his residence under the care of Hospice Savannah.

Born on May 31, 1944 in Willacoochee, Georgia, he was the son of the late C'Otis and Willie Mae Newton Corbitt. Mr. Corbitt was retired from General Electric after thirty years of Service as a technician.

Surviving are his wife of over fifty years, Katherine Corbitt of Pooler; his sons, Joe L. Corbitt, Jr. of Boston, Massachusetts, Jeffrey "Jeff" Corbitt of Jacksonville, Florida, Eric Corbitt and his wife, Lisa of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Rodney Corbitt of Charlotte, North Carolina and Aaron Cockrane of Boston, Massachusetts; his sister, Riley Mae Taylor and her husband, Walter of Athens, Georgia; his brothers, John Corbitt of Jacksonville, Florida, Charles Corbitt and his wife, Jannie of Jacksonville, Florida and Curtis Corbitt and his wife, Norma, of Williamsburg, Virginia; and a host of grandchildren, Great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation: from 1 until 2 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015 at the funeral home.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 in the chapel of the funeral home

Burial will be private.
