Savannah-Mr. Joe Tomlinson, Jr., 84, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at Abercorn Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Tomlinson was born in Cocoa, FL to the late Joe & Lorena Tomlinson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Charles A. Tomlinson; step-daughter, Karen Jernigan, and a sister, Janelle Adams. He was a member of Chevis Oaks Baptist Church, and had served his country in the Army Reserve for 23 years. He had been employed at Union Camp for 19 years, and was the owner/operator of Tomlinson Glass Company.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Tomlinson; son, Benny Joe Tomlinson; step-daughter, Rosemary Miles; adopted children, Rickey & Phyllis Tyre; sister, Mary Allison; brother, Bobby Bennett; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be on Wednesday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until 12 noon. The funeral will follow at 12 noon in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
