Guyton – Joel Clyde McLaughlin, 67, passed away April 20, 2025 at Memorial Health.

The Laurens County native was a Millwright with Stokes Construction.  He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, welding, but most of all spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Fred McLaughlin, Sr.; step-father whom he thought of as a father, T.V. Harris; and his brother, Wyman McLaughlin.

Survivors include his wife, Vera Dasher McLaughlin; children, Joel Taylor McLaughlin, Jimmy Dasher, Vicki Miller (Mike), Randy Carter, Jr., and Carrie Heimrich (James); a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his mother, Annette Harris; brother, Robert McLaughlin; a number of cousins, nieces and nephews; and his childhood best friend, Greg Glover.

No formal services will be held.
