Mr. John Christopher Arnold, Sr. "Chris", 66, of Midway, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Memorial Hospital.

Chris was born in Savannah, Georgia.  He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sybil Arnold, his mother, Frances Varnadoe Liss, his fiancé, Alicia Rigsby, and a grandson, Archer.  Chris served his country in the United States Marine Corp from 1976 – 1980 where he was a Gold Glove Boxer and a cook.  He was a skilled contractor who enjoyed working with his hands.  He was honest, never met a stranger, very friendly, loud, and was considered a social butterfly.  He enjoyed coaching baseball, fishing, hunting, and hanging out at the Waffle House.  He was an avid sports fan, especially rooting for the GA Bulldogs.  Most of all, he enjoyed being a father and a grandfather.

Survivors include his children, Christina Lines (Joshua, Sr.), Corey Rewis (Jessica), John Christopher Arnold, Jr. (Shannon), Prestin Rigsby, and Timothy Vancosky (Chloe Parker); grandchildren, Abigail Gabriel (Will), Alexander Alldredge, Aidan Alldredge, Ava Lines, Tyler Rewis, Ethan Rewis, and Savannah Arnold; great-grandchild, Arlo Gabriel; eight siblings and a number of nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Sunday, July 28, 2024 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The service to celebrate Chris' life will be on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Fleming Baptist Church located at 3526 North Coastal Highway 17 in Fleming, Georgia.
