John Morgan Bath
Guyton - John Morgan Bath, 83, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Effingham Care
Center.
The Bulloch County native was the son of the late Benjamine and Maggie Lanier Bath.
He retired from GA Pacific and was a member of New Providence Baptist Church and
former deacon. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, was a member of the V.F.W.
and former chaplain, and member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by
5 sisters, 5 brothers, his great-granddaughter, Emily Katelyn Smith, and Leether Bath,
mother of his daughters.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Hurst Bath of Guyton; children, Wanda Mixon of
Centre, TX, Sandra Cormier of Bangor, ME, Tommy Fort (Frankie) and Jerry Fort
(Penny) of Pooler, and Eddie Fort (Robin) of Whiteville, NC; 11 grandchildren;
numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Maggie "Doll" Golding of
Blitchton; brothers, James Bath and Jesse Bath of Brooklet, and Gene Bath of Blitchton;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at New Providence Baptist Church with Rev.
Erik Palmberg officiating. Mr. Bath will lie in state from 10 a.m. Pallbearers will be
Dustin Fort, Clayton Fort, Jason Fort, Brian Bath, Alan Bath, Joey Bath.
Interment will be in Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
