John W. "Bud" Tebeau
Springfield – John W. "Bud" Tebeau, 77, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Effingham Hosptial.
Born in Springfield on April 9, 1937 to the late Troy P. and Willie K. Tebeau. He graduated from Effingham Academy and attended Newberry College. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the Effingham County Historical Society where he received a 2013 Presidential Award. He retired from Union Camp Distribution. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a former volunteer with Springfield Fire Department, and a former member of the Springfield Jaycees. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing cards with his friends on Wednesdays.
Survivors include his sisters, Lee Ellen Hanberry (Billy) and Jo Louisa Tebeau; nieces, Cheryl Dickey (Kelly), Kay Smith (Joey), Robbie Partain (Eddie); 7 great-nieces and nephews; 6 great-great-nephews; and an uncle, Allen Webb.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor James Cavanah officiating.
Interment will follow in Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
