John Franklin Kessler, Sr.
Port Wentworth- John Franklin Kessler, Sr., 87, died Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Hospice Savannah.
The Effingham County native was retired from Central of Georgia Railroad and Chatham County Board of Education. He was a member of Berea Southern Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lourie Rahn Kessler; three daughters, Erna K. Lindberg (Richard), Velma K. Hopper (W.H.), and Lynne Kessler Bethune; a son, John Franklin Kessler, Jr. (Lynn); sisters, Betty Joyce Bryant (Bud) and Sharon Sue Shealey (Bruce); 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-7 pm Saturday, June 1, 2013 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 3 pm Sunday, June 2, 2013 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment: Springfield Cemetery
