Pooler-Mr. John Ellis Lee, 80, passed away on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Duke University.
Mr. Lee was born in Screven County to the late Bernard Ellis Lee & Dahlia Gordy Lee. He was a member of South Newington Baptist Church, and retired from Norfolk Southern Railway. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, watching the Atlanta Braves, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Coursey Lee; sons, Darrell E. Lee (Karen Mayberry), and Ronald A. Lee (Sally Lovett); former daughter-in-law, Donna Agan Lee; grandchildren, Brittany Lee Bartlett (Charles), John Michael Lee, Edward "Teddy" Lee, Alexandra Lee, Travis Lee, Liara Lovett, and Cara Lovett; siblings, Billy Lee-deceased(Barbara Ann), Bobby Lee (Rebecca), Patricia Lee Smith (Marlin), Charles Lee (Donna), and Danny Lee (Martha-deceased), several nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Sunday at South Newington Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Newington City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that remembrances be given to the South Newington Baptist Church, 453 John Carter Road, Bloomingdale, GA 31302.
