John Edward Mardula
Rincon – John Edward Mardula, 66, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family and loved ones.
The New York native served in the U.S. Marines during Vietnam where he received 3 Purple Hearts. John was a true patriot "whom once a Marine, always a Marine". He worked for New York Telecommunications and later retired from T Mobile. He has lived in Rincon for the past 8 years.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Chapman Mardula of Rincon; son, John E. Mardula, Jr. of Blooming Grove, NY; grandchildren, Amanda and John; brothers, Stanley Mardula of Phoenix, AZ and Mark Mardula of Wycoff, NJ; his brothers-in-law whom he considered brothers, Roy, Eugene, Charles, Denny, Jerry, Jackie, and Norman Chapman; numerous nieces and nephews; and his honorary brother, Victor Adams, Jr.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel followed by visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Graveside funeral services will be at a later date in Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be given to St. Jude's, www.StJude.org.
