Rincon – John Carl Moore, Sr., 77, passed away June 23, 2024 at East GA Regional Medical Center.

The California native served 2 tours during Vietnam as a Huey Pilot and a Instructor in the U.S. Army earning the rank of Captain.  He was an owner/operator of a roofing company, was a member of the Moose Lodge in Savannah, the N.R.A., the D.A.V., and Wounded Warriors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Carl Moore and Esther Rose Troufield Moore; wife, Ann Marie Covington Moore; brother, Bruce Moore; and sister, Darcy Moore.

Survivors include his children, John C. Moore, Jr., Tina Moore Seckinger (Alfred "Bubba" Adams), Joseph C. Moore, Jordan C. Moore, and Rachael Moore Rich (Gregg); 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mary Moore; brother-in-law, Billy Covington; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2024 at the Effingham County Veterans Park with military honors.
