Mr. John Elijah Dixon "Pee Wee", 80, of Bloomingdale, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Memorial Health Hospital.
Pee Wee will be missed by the love of his life, his wife of 61 years, Betty Ann Dixon; children, John Gregory Dixon (Dawn) and Vickie Marie Dixon; grandchildren, Jessica Rewis (Corey), Austin Dixon (Tisha). Justin Rodriguez (Angel), and Chandler Palmer; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ethan, Jase, Bentley, Huxton, Gemma, Eli, Asher, and Jackson; sister, Peggy Dixon Steele, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Pee Wee was born in Dublin, Georgia and had lived in Bloomingdale for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his parents, John E. Dixon, Sr. and Lennie Faye McDaniel Dixon, as well as his brother, Ted Dixon. He worked as a drywall mechanic for over 40 years. The most important thing to him was his family and his dog, BooBoo. He loved watching and supporting the Bulldogs, Falcons, and Braves. If you knew Pee Wee, you knew his laughter was contagious and his teasing was his way of showing love. Pee Wee never left a conversation or a visit without saying "I love you".
The visitation will be on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 12 noon until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral to honor Pee Wee's life will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Steve McCoy officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
