John "Jack" Peters

Guyton – John "Jack" Peters, 69, passed away April 16, 2018 at Effingham Hospital.

The Maine native served in the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Coast Guard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Ken Pomeroy; brother, Lenny Peters; sister, Lorraine Peters; and step-son, Troy Robert Nason.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Garrett Peters; son, Christian (Terra) Peters of Juneau, Alaska; step-son, Paul (Tara) Chapman of Pooler; grandchildren, Maraiya (Joardan) Savland, Ashlee Peters, Chloe and Garrett Chapman, and Troy Peters; great-grandchildren, Cole, Norie and Anders Savland; siblings, Joyce Pomeroy, Nona (Peter) Jenkins, Russell (Lori) Peters; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 3 – 4 p.m. Sunday followed by memorial services at 4 p.m. in the chapel.
