IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Stephen
Sherrod
November 11, 1957 – March 6, 2024
Rincon- John Stephen Sherrod, 66, passed away peacefully at his home on March 6, 2024.
He was born in Savannah in 1957 to Jack and Marjorie Sherrod, and grew up in Isle of Hope. John attended Jenkins High School, University of Georgia and Savannah Vocational Technical School before dedicating 40 years with Southeastern HVAC in Savannah. John was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Patterson Sherrod and Marjorie Nash Sherrod; grandparents, Admiral Dewey and Inez Deloach Sherrod, and Bernard James and Irma Tyler Nash; and sister, Patricia Sherrod Myers.
John is survived by his wife, Kimberly Singleton Sherrod; and their two children, Lauren Sherrod Smith (Chris) and Travis Benjamin Sherrod; grandchildren Ella & Kip Smith; brothers, Jack Sherrod (Ronna) and Bill Sherrod (Lynn); brothers-in-law, Robert Myers, and Charlie Singleton (Griselda); sister-in-law, Kay Harper (Rex); and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.
John was a selfless, humble servant that used his HVAC expertise and his ability to fix anything to serve others. He would always prioritize other's needs over his own, often resulting in his list never getting completed. John was a passionate Georgia Bulldawg fan and thoroughly enjoyed the back-to-back national championships. John absolutely loved his family and spending as much time as possible with his grands. He was loved by all and will be remembered by all whose paths crossed with his journey. We will miss John daily, but look so forward to our reunion with him in Heaven.
John's memorial service is scheduled for March 23, 2024 at 2 pm with visitation an hour before in the funeral home chapel.
Donations can be made to Compassus Hospice.
