Obituary
Garden City-Mr. John Wilder Sims, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, February 9, 2017.
Mr. Sims was born in Savannah to the late Lewis & Melissa Sims. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Sims; daughter, Patti Jane Simmons; grandchildren, John Chancellor, III, Shandy Webb, Jonathan Robinson and Dena Martino; a great-grandson, Josh Stafford as well as several siblings. Mr. Sims retired from Continental Can/Stone Container, and enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Survivors include four daughters and their husbands, Cindy & Kenny Robinson, Sandy & Tom Butler, Lynda & Bobby Sanders, and Amanda & Lindy Webb, Jr.; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
