Rincon – John Earl Smith, 89, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023 at Memorial Medical Center.

The Bulloch County native was a Merchant Marine and had retired from the Civil Service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances and his son, Brandon.

Survivors include his son, Craig Earl Smith; grandchildren, Stephen Joshua Smith and Alexis Marie Smith; and great-granddaughter, Peyton Smith.

Visitation: 6-8 pm Tuesday, May 9, 2023 in the funeral home.

Graveside Service: 11 am Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Doubleheads Baptist Church Cemetery in Sylvania.
