Mr. John Wayne Stevens
Pooler-Mr. John Wayne Stevens, 65, died on Friday, October 19, 2007 at St. Joseph's
Hospital.
Mr. Stevens was born in Jefferson County to Joseph and Ida Stevens. He was a member
of the Pooler First Baptist Church. He was employed with the City of Savannah as the
water/sewage supervisor and was formerly employed with Forstmann and Company in
Jefferson County for 32 years. He was a charter member of the Pooler American Legion,
a Past Master of the Stonewall Masonic Lodge #98 in Louisville, a past member of the
Daughter's of America where he was past state counselor and he was the secretary of the
Pooler Crossroads Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include the love of his life, Anne Smith and Princess of Pooler; children, Lynn
(Andy) Farrow of Bartow, Susan Stevens of Bartow, Dewayne Stevens of Bartow, John
(Shawn) Stevens of Hephizibah and Glenn Smith of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; grandchildren,
Ashley Farrow, Brandon Farrow, Brittany Stevens, Amber Stevens, Kimberly (Brad)
Johnson and Hollie (Jeff) Hart of Pooler; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Evan and Eric
Johnson; mother, Ida Stevens of Wadley; brother, Danny (Ruth) Stevens of Wadley;
sister, Donna McNeely of Wadley and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 2 p.m. on Monday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Gravel Hill Cemetery.
