John Thomas Waller (Tommy), passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia after a short battle with cancer.
Tommy was born on February 8, 1952 in Savannah to J.T. Waller, Sr. and Helen M. Love. He was a 1971 Groves High School graduate and became a certified welder as his career. He worked at many companies in and around Savannah. The majority of his work history was with Great Dane Trailers in Savannah, and later with JCB in Pooler. He loved hunting, fishing, water skiing, boats, car racing, and getting together with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Hiram Waller, and his step-father, Irving Love.
Survivors include his children, Tommy Lietz, Shane T. Waller, and Cathrine Coleman; grandchildren, Brittany Robinson (Mike), Lauren Lietz, Tristan Coleman, Phillip Coleman, Theoden Coleman, and John Valor Coleman; great-grandchildren, Logan Lietz, Regan Lietz, and Lyla Beth Lietz; siblings, Shirley Thomas, Barbara Gordon, LeAnn Reynolds, Tina Love, Irving Love, and many nieces and nephews, including his special niece who called him Uncle Daddy, Rachael England.
The graveside funeral and burial to honor Tommy's life will be on Monday, March 3, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Elkins Cemetery on Highway 204 in Chatham County.
