John J. Crapse Travis

Rincon- John J. Crapse Travis, 72, died Monday, April 29, 2013 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

The Chatham County native was retired from Hercules, Inc. and had served in the 165th Air National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawton and Ola Mae Crapse; and his brother-in-law, Johnny Dowd.

Survivors include his daughters, Sharon Abruzzio (Tony) of Guyton and Susan C. Plank (Robert) of Rincon; two brothers, Fred Crapse (Ann) and Richard Crapse (Pam), all of Statesboro; two sisters, Margaret Anderson (Doyle) of Portal and Lucille Dowd of Pooler; three grandchildren, Alison Kirkland, Hunter Plank, and Rilee Williams; a great-grandson, Kyler Williams; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be private.
