Rincon – John Eric Wainright, 49, passed away August 22, 2021 at Memorial Health University in Savannah

Mr. Wainright was a native of Savannah, GA who lived in Effingham County for the past 17 years.  Mr. Wainright was employed by Gulfstream Aerospace for the last 25 years.  He was an avid fan of Georgia Bulldogs Football.  Go Dawgs!  His pride and joy was his son Hunter.  He was always so proud to talk about his accomplishments and how proud he was of him.

He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Ann Tuten, father David Knight Wainright, Sr., and brother, David Knight Wainright, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Thornton Wainright; son, Hunter Zane Wainright; sister, Angelia Suzanne Wainright; nephew, Zachary David Wainright (Lizzie), and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Daniel Baptist Cemetery in Richmond Hill.
